There are no flat, easy rides in the Yorkshire Dales. The rolling, hilly landscape here leads to frequent ascents, and novice riders may want to consider a longer itinerary to bring down their daily mileages to compensate.
Experienced hill climbers will appreciate the challenges presented by the famous ascents at Fleet Moss, Buttertubs, and Park Rash. For every difficult climb, Vuelta a Dales serves up gorgeous green vistas and fast, sweeping descents. The exhilarating dive from Little Hunter Stones into Wharfedale is unforgettable.
Vuelta a Dales keeps to hard surfaces throughout, fit for any road-oriented bicycle. It uses quiet country lanes to explore the surrounding countryside. Along streets with low speed limits, the route dips into cycle-friendly Yorkshire villages.
